Olaf is bringing back a Christmas tree for the winter holiday celebrations.
The front of the box shows Olaf riding his loaded sleigh down a snowy hill. Along the bottom is the Disney Frozen II logo and an illustration of Anna and Elsa from the movie.
The back of the box shows more of the details of the set, with Olaf on skis, decorating the Christmas tree, and wrapping a present (or is he opening it?). Like the front of the box, the Disney Frozen II logo is at the bottom along with an illustration of Anna and Elsa, this time in mini-doll form.
The top of the box shows the lantern pieces as the 1:1 ratio example against a Frozen II themed background. Pearl gold was a new color for this part in 2019, and also appeared in Set 75958: Beauxbatons' Carriage: Arrival at Hogwarts (2019). It has since showed up in 3 more Disney sets and 1 Ninjago set in 2020.
The rest of the box sides have manufacturing information, product warnings, and copyright information.
Inside the box are two bags of parts and a small instruction book.
The bag of larger parts includes the new Olaf mini doll (we'll take a closer look at him below).
The 2 x 2 x 1 top opening container in bright light orange was a new part for 2019. It also appears in sets 41166: Elsa's Wagon Adventure and 41167: Arendelle Castle Village. It has since appeared in several sets in 2020.
The modified 1 x 2 plates with racers car grill in white is a new color for 2019, but also not exclusive to this set. It will be used for the sleigh runners in this build.
The bag of smaller parts includes the new pearl gold lantern mentioned above. Nothing else new, but I appreciate getting more modified 1 x 1 bricks with studs on 4 sides in something other than a shade of grey.
Here's our new Olaf for 2019. The head mold is the same one that has been used for him since the beginning, but they have changed the eye glints from the right to the left. The big change for Olaf is the new mini doll body. I love the metallic blue snowflakes and that he has mini doll arms so he can carry things.
The top button of coal has a mini pin hole so you can dress up Olaf with the bow. While I enjoyed the brick built version of Olaf in previous sets, this is a welcome update.
The small sleigh (trailer) with Christmas tree is built first. I enjoy the many different Christmas tree builds that LEGO has used. This one is simple and effective.
The larger, main sleigh is built next. It features a box for Olaf's skis, room for a present using the new box piece, and the gold lantern in front.
Here's the completed build with both sections of the sleigh connected by a gold chain.
If you remove the present, there is a space where a mini doll could sit. Here I've borrowed Elsa from a different set to illustrate (Note: Elsa is NOT included with this set).
The spare parts are what you would expect from this build. I appreciate getting two of the purple bows in this set, so I can put one in the present and still have Olaf wearing one.
At the end of the instructions, there is the adventure map/maze advertising the other Frozen II sets. This illustration appears in several of the sets from this theme.
Summary:
This is a fun set. There are plenty of play opportunities with Olaf skiing off to find the perfect tree, loading it up to deliver to the castle, decorating it, and giving or receiving the present. It would look great as part of a larger Frozen layout or Winter Village display.
Happy building!
